Canadian Bank Rate
The rate at which the Bank of Canada lends funds to financial institutions. The Bank Rate is an integral part of the Bank's monetary policy and is the trend-setting rate from which other interest rates are derived. Investors pay close attention to changes in changes in the bank rate.
