Real-time Graphical Technical Analysis

The graphs (or charts) on the FXTrade platform plot currency exchange rate values at time intervals ranging from seconds to days. All graphs are updated in real-time so you can see how rates have changed over time. For basic information on how to read the graphs, go to the Platform User Guide.

The FXTrade platform provides the following technical analysis features to help you interpret the graphs.

Currency Price Graphs

Depending on the situation, traders need to focus on particular aspects of a currency's price movement. These price curve styles show some combination of opening, closing, high, low or average prices over a time interval, and can show one or both of the buy and sell price.

Indicators

Indicators are separate graphs shown below the price curve graph that show overall market trends.

Overlays

Overlay curves are plotted directly on top of the price curve. Traders use them to compare the price curve with perceived market trends, and may react when the price curve intersects particular overlay curves.

Trend Lines

Trend lines are added by traders to zero in on perceived price movement trends.
