Technical Requirements

Minimum Requirements for OANDA's FXTrade and FXGame Platforms

If you are having problems running OANDA's FXTrade or FXGame, ensure that your computer meets the hardware, software and Internet connection requirements below. You can run our Java Test to make sure your system has the minimum requirements.

Hardware Requirements

Pentium 166MHz processor
(300+ MHz recommended)

32 MB memory
(64+ MB recommended)

800x600 pixel display
(1024x768 recommended)

16-bit color display
(32-bit recommended)

Operating System

The FXTrade and FXGame platforms run on most systems that have a Web browser with Java 5 or higher.

Browser Software

FXTrade and FXGame are Web-based platforms requiring one of the following browsers. For you to log in to the platform, your browser needs to be enabled for Java 5 and have 128-bit encryption to protect your login ID and password in transmission.

Java 5 Software

To download and install Java 5:

For Windows, visit the Java web site
For Mac OS X, use the Software Updater or visit the Apple Developer's web site. (Java 5 is supported by Mac OS X 10.4 or later.)

Consult your browser's online Help for instructions on enabling Java.

Other Software

You need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view FXTrade product documents in PDF format.

Internet Connection Requirements

Access to the World Wide Web

In addition to your Web browser, you will need access to the Web. Consult your Internet Service Provider or your network administrator or contact our technical support team.

Email

You will recieve your username and password through your e-mail account. You need to have an active e-mail account under your name for this purpose.
