OANDA - How to enable Java and Javascript


Windows

Note: Internet Explorer users may be affected by a December 31, 2007 change in Microsoft Java support.

For Internet Explorer 4:

  1. Click View > Internet Options

For Internet Explorer 5+:

  1. Click Tools > Internet Options
  2. Click the Security tab
  3. Set your Internet zone security level to Medium
    Alternatively, if you are using custom security settings, be sure that the following settings are enabled:
    • Java Permissions
    • Active Scripting
    • Scripting of Java applets
  4. Click OK
  5. Click the Advanced tab
  6. Look for the Java VM heading and place a checkmark beside:
    • Java console enabled
    • Java logging enabled
    • JIT compiler for virtual machine enabled
  1. Click Tools > Options
  2. Click the Content tab
  3. Put a checkmark beside Enable Java and Enable JavaScript
  1. Click Edit > Preferences
  2. Click Advanced
  3. Place a checkmark beside Enable Java and Enable Javascript
  1. Click Start > Settings > Control Panel
  2. Click the Java Plugin Icon
  3. Click the Browser tab
  4. Place a checkmark beside Microsoft Internet Explorer and Netscape 6 and click Apply
  5. Close the Java Plugin Control Panel
  6. If you are using Internet Explorer 4: Click View > Internet Options
  7. If you are using Internet Explorer 5+: Click Tools > Internet Options
  8. Click the Advanced tab
  9. Look for the Java (Sun) heading and place a checkmark beside Use Java 2 v1.4 for <applet>
  1. Click File > Preferences
  2. Click Multimedia on the left panel
  3. Place a checkmark beside Enable plug-ins, Enable Javascript and Enable Java
  4. Click OK

Mac OS X


  1. Click Edit > Preferences
  2. Click Java on the left panel
  3. Place a checkmark beside:
    • Enable Java
    • Alert on exception
    • Log Java output
    • Log Java exceptions
  4. Click Web Content on the left panel
  5. Place a checkmark beside Enable scripting
  1. Click Safari > Preferences
  2. Click Security
  3. Place a checkmark beside Enable Java and Enable Javascript
  1. Click Firefox > Preferences
  2. Click the Content tab
  3. Put a checkmark beside Enable Java and Enable JavaScript
