OANDA - How to enable Java and Javascript
Windows
Internet Explorer (Windows)
Note: Internet Explorer users may be affected by a December 31, 2007 change in Microsoft Java support.
For Internet Explorer 4:
- Click View > Internet Options
For Internet Explorer 5+:
- Click Tools > Internet Options
- Click the Security tab
- Set your Internet zone security level to Medium
Alternatively, if you are using custom security settings, be sure that the following settings are enabled:
- Java Permissions
- Active Scripting
- Scripting of Java applets
- Click OK
- Click the Advanced tab
- Look for the Java VM heading and place a checkmark beside:
- Java console enabled
- Java logging enabled
- JIT compiler for virtual machine enabled
Firefox (Windows)
- Click Tools > Options
- Click the Content tab
- Put a checkmark beside Enable Java and Enable JavaScript
Netscape (Windows)
- Click Edit > Preferences
- Click Advanced
- Place a checkmark beside Enable Java and Enable Javascript
Java Plugin (Windows)
- Click Start > Settings > Control Panel
- Click the Java Plugin Icon
- Click the Browser tab
- Place a checkmark beside Microsoft Internet Explorer and Netscape 6 and click Apply
- Close the Java Plugin Control Panel
- If you are using Internet Explorer 4: Click View > Internet Options
- If you are using Internet Explorer 5+: Click Tools > Internet Options
- Click the Advanced tab
- Look for the Java (Sun) heading and place a checkmark beside Use Java 2 v1.4 for <applet>
Opera (Windows)
- Click File > Preferences
- Click Multimedia on the left panel
- Place a checkmark beside Enable plug-ins, Enable Javascript and Enable Java
- Click OK
Mac OS X
Internet Explorer (Mac OS X)
- Click Edit > Preferences
- Click Java on the left panel
- Place a checkmark beside:
- Enable Java
- Alert on exception
- Log Java output
- Log Java exceptions
- Click Web Content on the left panel
- Place a checkmark beside Enable scripting
Safari (Mac OS X)
- Click Safari > Preferences
- Click Security
- Place a checkmark beside Enable Java and Enable Javascript
Firefox (Mac OS X)
- Click Firefox > Preferences
- Click the Content tab
- Put a checkmark beside Enable Java and Enable JavaScript
