Forex Managed Account Requirements

To create an fxTrade Client Manager account for money management, investment managers must:

Clients of investment managers must:

  • Create an fxTrade account from which they can send funds and send in the required identification
  • Accept an fxTrade Client Manager invitation from a investment manager and register with fxTrade Client Manager
  • Send a signed copy of the Power of Attorney to OANDA (signed by the client and the manager)
  • From the Funds Management System, deposit funds with OANDA - Instructions
  • Transfer funds to the unallocated managed account
  • From fxTrade Client Manager, allocate funds from the unallocated account to the investment manager's managed account

To trade clients' funds, investment managers must:

  • Create new managed accounts as fxTrade sub-accounts linked to an fxTrade account
  • Invite multiple clients to join their managed account
  • Ensure their clients have followed all the steps outlined in the previous list (including sending the required forms to OANDA)
  • From fxTrade Client Manager, approve client allocation of funds to their managed account

Important note: Various restrictions apply to individuals requesting to be investment managers with fxTrade Client Manager accounts, and these restrictions vary by jurisdiction. Your eligibility will be assessed when you request to register. If you have questions on your eligibility, contact OANDA customer support.

System Requirements

The fxTrade Client Manager Platform can run from any Web browser on any operating system as long as the Web browser supports Version 1.1 and higher of Java.

Some suggested browsers include:

The Platform will operate behind a firewall only if proprietary protocol requests are allowed to Port 15700 or Port 80, with server names fx1-ma.oanda.com for fxTrade or fx2-ma.oanda.com for fxTrade Practice.
